Chemical Peels

The natural aging process combined with sun exposure and other aging factors results in a superficial covering layer of skin that consists of dead and damaged skin cells. This leaves the skin tone looking dull, tired and creates fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels are a great way to remove this damaged layer, revealing the younger, healthier and more balanced skin tone that lies beneath.

Chemical peels are ideally done on a regular basis for best results and can be combined with other skin therapies such as microneedling, as well as a home care regimen to maintain the skin’s natural radiance and health. Chemical Peels also improve skin texture and help treat pigmentation and sun damage as well as helping to clear acne and improve acne scarring.

We offer several types of chemical peels, and our physicians and aestheticians will evaluate your skin type as well as your needs to determine what is best for you. This is a quick in office procedure and depending on the type of peel used, there may be a period of redness and flaking skin for a few days after your peel. Our aestheticians can recommend skin care products and makeup that can be used immediately after your peel, as well as over the longer term to help maintain your results.

THE TYPES OF PEELS AVAILABLE INCLUDE:

  • Alpha and Beta Hydroxy peels: these superficial peels require minimum to no down time and are excellent for maintenance and subtle enhancements to skin tone.

  • TCA Peel: these medium depth peels generally require a longer downtime of 5-7 days. The benefit of this longer downtime is a visibly better result especially in those with pigmentation problems, uneven skin texture, acne scarring and sun damage.

  • Obagi Blue peel: this deep peel requires a long downtime of 10-14 days and is indicated in those who are looking for maximum improvement. to their wrinkles, acne scarring, pigmentation and sun damaged skin.
